What is palliative care
Palliative care is a specialized form of medical care aimed at alleviating pain and improving quality of life in people with serious, chronic or incurable diseases.
They are not limited to terminal conditions, but can be applied for months and sometimes years, depending on the patient's condition - including after a stroke, heart attack, malignant and benign tumors, chronic diseases, for recovery after surgery or a serious illness.
Care is provided by a qualified team of doctors, nurses, caregivers, sanitary personnel and a rehabilitator.
Support covers not only the physical condition, but also the emotional stability of the patient and his relatives.
Prices for accommodation in a hospice and palliative care
At Hospice Marinela we offer daily stays at a price between 60 and 90 leva, depending on the patient's condition and the necessary activities for his care.
Prices are indicative and may change both with a discount for regular clients and with an increase in the need for very intensive care.
Example prices include:
- 24-hour care by a nurse and caregiver
- Daily doctor visits
- Constant monitoring by qualified nurses
- Three meals a day (if necessary – diet food)
- Assistance with personal hygiene, eating, and mobility
- Monitoring and support in case of complications
The price does not include medications and medical supplies, which are usually covered by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) or are covered by the patient or his/her relatives through personal funds, pension or supplementary health insurance.
We assist relatives with consultation on the necessary medications and supplies, as well as in organizing the delivery of medications and medical supplies.
